Co-Laboratory of Ultra-precision Control and System, co-founded by USTC and Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP) of CAS, was given its opening ceremony on May 8th, 2010. President Hou Jianguo from USTC and Director Xuan Ming from CIOMP presided the ceremony together for the laboratory. Prof. Li Weiping, Dean of School of Information Science and Technology of USTC, and Researcher Wang Cheng from CIOMP signed the agreement on behalf of their sides.

　　Researcher Shen Dezhen, Executive Director of the co-lab, introduced the current situation and operation mechanism.

　　The co-lab shall combine the advantages of the two sides with strategic needs of nation, draft some research directions, and carry out substantial cooperation on many aspects.

　　General Secretary Xu Wu from USTC stated on the ceremony that the school was on its new stage of development. Combining institutions of CAS with disciplines in our school should form a new mode of win-win cooperation. By working in the co-lab, faculties and students in related academic field are hoped to comprehend deeper so as to establish a new way suitable for engineering's further development in USTC.
