"Face to Face with Masters-Interview with Professor Asad A. Abidi"was successfully held at Water Report Hall on east campus, April 28th. Expert on RF IC Design, Prof. Asad A. Abidi from UCLA, accompanied with Prof. Lin Fujiang, Executive Dean of Dept. of Electronic Science and Technology and Micronano-Electronic System Integration Centre (MESIC), carried out friendly exchanges with the students on the spot.

The activity started from an interview with Prof. Abidi, during which he mentioned his impression of China at first, followed by the close relationship between IC Design and Basic Science, its great significance for development of Science and Technology, as well as a detailed introduction to the promising future of IC Design. He also made distinctive comments on issues such as educational difference between China and US, technology development of developing countries etc.

Later, the students interacted with Prof. Abidi on issues they’re interested in, which include career prospects, study and life etc. Prof. Abidi gave incise answers to their questions with patience.

The whole activity ended in a friendly, harmonious atmosphere. Prof. Abidi won round after round of applause by his distinctive charisma and eloquent talk. The students benefited a lot from this exchange activity and were looking forward to more communications with this master in the future.
