ZHANG Chi Wins IEEE Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award

Dr. ZHANG Chi, Tenure-Track Associate Professor from the School of Information Science and Technology, USTC, has received the prestigious IEEE Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2012 from IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), for his strong publication record and active participation in conference activities over the last three years. The presentation ceremony took place on 4 Dec. at Anaheim, CA, USA. This award was established in 2001 with the aim of honoring capable researchers aged 35 or below.

 

 

Dr. ZHANG received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida in 2011. He joined the University of Science and Technology of China in September 2011 as an Tenure-Track Associate Professor of the School of Information Science and Technology. His research interests are in the areas of wireless networks and network security. He has published over 70 papers in leading international journals including IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, or in top networking conferences such as IEEE INFOCOM, ICNP, and ICDCS. He has served as the Technical Program Committee (TPC) members for several international conferences including IEEE INFOCOM, ICC, GLOBECOM, WCNC and PIMRC. He is the recipient of the Gator Engineer Attribute Award for Creativity from the University of Florida in 2011.
