To promote internal exchange and boost morale of the faculties, School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) held an annual faculty meeting on January 19. The meeting gathered all SIST leaderships, faculties and staffs, and was hosted by Deputy Secretary WANG Tong from CPC Committee of SIST.

Executive Dean, Prof. WU Feng gave a talk at the beginning. In the talk ,he showed gratitude to everybody’s intense involvement and attention to the School’s issues. He also hoped that every SIST member could learn more about the happenings in the past year as well as work plans for the next stage of the School, and give advices or suggestions on the School’s future constructions.

Next, three distinguished scholars was conferred the title of 2017 “Xinchuang Professor” along with eight 2017 “Xinchuang Scholars”. Secretary-General LIU Zhifeng from USTC Beijing Alumni Association expressed the will of continuous support to SIST’s development on behalf of the Alumni Association.

In the following report session, six school leaders presented their work achievements on talent introduction, team building, research platform construction, Party member education, undergraduate and graduate student affairs, student recruitment and education etc. respectively.

Finally, the attendees exchanged their ideas freely with the School leaders. Most SIST members highly appreciated the School’s achievements in 2017 and gave precious suggestions. Through this meeting, the ties between faculties and leaderships got strengthened, and it is beleved the School’s comprehensive reform and development would be promoted.
