The School of Information Science and Technology conducted a series of academic activities on July 8^th and July 10^th. A number of experts and scholars from home and abroad attended the activities.

 On July 8^th, Biomedical Engineering Academic Forum was held on campus in the morning. Four famous scholars, Prof. Gao Dayong, Prof. Yang Xiaoming, and Prof. Gao Xiaohu from University of Washington and Prof. Gao Jiahong from University of Chicago made remarkable reports on some international hot issues in biomedical engineering.

In the afternoon, Dean Li Weiping hosted the “Preparatory Seminar on Biomedical Engineering Research Center”. Vice President Zhu Changfei of USTC, Academician Wu Xiaoping of CAS, Dean Tian Zhigang from School of Life Science, Deputy Director Luo Xisheng from Science and Technology Office of USTC, Prof. Gao Dayong, Prof. Yang Xiaoming, Prof. Gao Xiaohu, Prof. Gao Jiahong, and other related faculties attended the meeting and discussed a series of issues such as the center’s future goal, orientation, tasks, structure, and mechanism etc.
