Professor Zhu Zuqing was elected IEEE Fellow
On November 22, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) released the list of IEEE Fellows (Class of 2023),Professor Zhu Zuqing of our college was elected IEEE Fellow for his contribution to elastic optical network and network virtualization.
Professor Zhu Zuqing graduated from the University of California, Davis in the United States in 2007; From 2007 to 2011, he worked in the US headquarters of Cisco as a senior engineer; He joined our college in 2011. At present, he is engaged in the research of optical network, programmable network and network automation.
He has published more than 330 papers in academic journals and conferences of IEEE and other societies, which have been cited more than 9000 times by Google Scholar+.He won the Best Paper Award in flagship academic conferences such as ICC 2013, GLOBECOM 2013, ICNC 2014, ICC 2015 and ONDM 2018. Currently, he is the chairman of the IEEE Communications Society Optical Network Technical Committee, the chairman of the Steering Committee of the IEEE International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing International Conference, the member of the ICC/GLOBECOM Steering Committee of the flagship IEEE Communications Society conference, and the Area Editor of the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society optical communication network field, and IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, Optics Express and IEEE Systems Journal.
He was the Lead Series Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine Optical Communication Network and was selected as a senior member of the Optical Society of America (Optica) in 2013. In 2014, he was supported by the Outstanding Young Scientists Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2018, he was supported by the Youth Top Talent Program of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. In 2018, he was selected as an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Teacher.
IEEE is an international society of electronic technology and information science engineers. It was established on January 1, 1963, and its headquarters is located in New York City, USA. IEEE has more than 420000 members and 39 professional sub societies in more than 160 countries, leading the latest development direction in the fields of signal and information processing, power, electronics, computers, communications, control, remote sensing, biomedicine, intelligent transportation, space and other technologies.
IEEE Fellow is the highest level member of the Institute and the highest honor awarded to members by IEEE. It is selected annually by IEEE peer experts from members with senior or life level. Candidates need to make significant contributions to the progress or application of engineering science and technology, and bring significant value to society. In addition, the number of elected members shall not exceed 1 ‰ of the total number of IEEE members in that year. Due to the small number of IEEE Fellows elected each year, most of the scientists elected are outstanding scientists who have made important achievements in the field of science and engineering technology.
